Another month improving my passive income streams, slowly but surely.
Throughout the year 2012, my monthly income remained stuck in the $300 range due to a lack of attention on my own Amazon/Pubit accounts. Toward the end of last year, I made a promise to work on myself at full force and turn 2013 into a truly successful year (and hopefully bring new passive income streams onboard.)
Will I earn thousands of dollars on any given month? That’s unclear, and I honestly don’t care much. To me, success means taking action and doing the things I enjoy doing, whether they turn profitable or not.
That being said, I am happy to announce that my monthly income has effectively surpassed that $300-ish plateau it was stuck in for so many months. At least that’s what my figures show at the time of this writing, anyway. My January 2013 report shows an abnormal increase in income, averaging $600, and I blame that purely on the post-holiday season. February, on the other hand, has shown me more reliable figures in the sense that they are lower, but more precise. Nevertheless, I hope to reach the $600 mark again soon without having to consider it ‘abnormal’ or unusual.
Anyway, here’s a quick breakdown of my friend’s income report, as well as my own. I enjoy including her earnings because we co-wrote many of the books published in her account today. Also, I hope it motivates others to start publishing ebooks or making money online through other means.
My Income Report:
Amazon Net Units Sold: 306
B&N Net Units Sold: 210
Total Income (Approximate) $425+
My Friend’s Income Report:
Amazon Net Units Sold: 2,773
B&N Net Units Sold: 80
Total Income (Approximate) $1,200+
Things to Note: My friend has sold an unbelievable amount of copies of one particular book which comprises of many erotic stories bundled into one package (available at 99 cents since the time we published it back in December 2012.)
The book’s success has led us to play around with its price and actually increase it a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I was reluctant and feared that a price increase may destroy its typical book rank of #1,400 on Amazon. However, since the book was selling an average of 50 to 70 copies per day, we decided to finally take a leap of faith. We hope the price increase turns into a blessing in disguise; after all, it could drastically turn into one of her biggest passive income streams.
