It’s been approximately one month since I last updated this blog. It’s a shame, because I have always enjoyed writing not just for a living, but also as a hobby. For better or worse, other projects tend to get in the way and eventually you may feel overwhelmed trying to manage several things at once. At least that’s been the case with me.
Other times, though, I simply feel paralyzed and slack off. It’s all part of being human, right?
Anyway, I have always updated you with my book earnings around the 15th of every month, with today’s income report being the exception. Nothing too drastic has happened with my earnings – except for the noticeable $300 drop compared to last month, that is. While my income doesn’t seem awfully bad, I’m not sure whether to take this as a compliment — considering I’ve always looked forward to seeing my earnings grow month after month.
In any case, here are my average Kindle earnings (and Nook) for the month of June:
My Income Report:
Amazon Net Units Sold: 1,347
B&N Net Units Sold: 325
Total Income (Approximate) $730
So, What’s Happening?
This past moth has been a hectic one, and I admit I am losing focus on writing in general as of late. For starters, I didn’t publish a single short story on Amazon or Nook in July, and the amount of published work was sub-par for June as well. Maybe I’m going through a bit of a burnout, or perhaps my mind is craving something other than erotic fiction, for once.
Thankfully, the world of Indie publishing is vast and we have a whole lot of subjects to explore, so I may start looking into other passive income ideas aside from erotica.
Maybe, maybe not.
I’m also looking into other forms of passive income completely unrelated to book publishing. More on that later.
Lastly, I am working together with a friend on a slightly longer book for his account. The plan here is to take this book more seriously and undergo a long series of promotional efforts, just to see how far we can get. He is adamant that we try to reach a new level with his publishing efforts, and of course, I’m happy to help.
I’ll be keeping you guys posted with the eventual results. Anyway, feel free to contact me if you have any questions! Best of luck.
