To this day, Kindle continues to be my primary source of income. Although I’ve thoroughly enjoyed seeing my earnings increase little by little (generally speaking) something has started to bother me lately. You see, I feel like I am hitting a bit of a plateau when it comes to making a real living right now.
I’ll be honest; it took me quite a while to reach that first $1,000 on my own books account, and I am quite ready to see at least $2,000 to $3,000 in monthly earnings already! GRRR.
That being said, however, I did spend a significant amount of time helping other people in the past and writing on their behalf, which certainly contributed to my slow earnings/increments. Needless to say, I am actively seeking other money-making opportunities both within and outside of the Kindle marketplace. I have nothing to show at the moment, but will hopefully have a new profitable website or two sometime this year.
Rant over. Now, onto my May 2013 earnings:
My Income Report:
Amazon Net Units Sold: 1,853
B&N Net Units Sold: 335
Total Income (Approximate) $1,062
So it seems that I made a bit less than last month, which is totally fine and expected. I heard Amazon is in the process of filtering many erotic books from their search results, which could eventually hurt my sales (as I focus mainly on short Erotica.) I’ll take this news as a blessing in disguise, as it gives me more incentive to spread my wings and always be on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities.
In the Meantime…
As you may recall (do I even have any active readers on this blog, anyway?) last month I coached a friend into publishing books to help supplement his income. Most of his work is outsourced while he occasionally contributes a book or two on his own. Thankfully, it seems that he hit the ground running and so far it’s been a rather pleasant experience. He published his first book on May 10th and made roughly $170 from Amazon and NookPress combined. The month of June is looking even better, reaching almost $400 so far from both marketplaces.
So let’s see how shit goes for the remainder of the year, shall we? As always, feel free to shoot me a message or comment below if you have any questions; I’d LOVE to help anyone in need. And remember, it’s never too late to be successful.
Peace out, bitches! (that was a joke.)
